White House Chief of AI and Cryptocurrency David Sacks and Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy Michael Kratsios appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” program to share the Trump administration’s technology agenda and economic vision.

Sacks stated that the biggest obstacle in the market structure bill pending in the Senate is the disagreement over whether stablecoins can provide yield/interest. Referring to this conflict between the banking sector and the cryptocurrency industry, Sacks said, “A compromise where everyone is a little unhappy is a good compromise,” urging both sides to be flexible.

Sacks predicts that, in the long run, banking and crypto will cease to be separate worlds and will transform into “a single digital asset industry.”

Sacks defended the Trump administration’s performance, highlighting macroeconomic data. Recalling the 5.4% GDP growth in the fourth quarter, falling inflation, and rising productivity figures, Sacks stated, “The business environment hasn’t been this good in years. We think 2026 will be an even bigger year.”
