Key figures from the Joe Biden administration, billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban, and various lawmakers from the House and Senate will hold a roundtable meeting in early July to address the issue of cryptocurrency policy.
The event is organized by Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna, who represents Silicon Valley, one of the wealthiest regions in the United States.
According to a recent report from Bitcoin Magazine, the roundtable will focus on strategies to sustain and promote Bitcoin and blockchain innovation in the United States. The meeting highlights the increasing importance of cryptocurrencies in both economic and political arenas, especially as the 2024 presidential elections approach.
Mark Cuban, one of the leading advocates of cryptocurrencies, emphasized the importance of this issue for the upcoming elections.
“I have said many times that Biden must choose between SEC Chairman Gary Gensler or crypto voters or it could cost him the White House,” Cuban said on social media platform X.
Rep. Khanna, known for his support of the cryptocurrency industry, recently introduced the House-passed FIT21 bill, which aims to provide the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) with new jurisdiction over digital commodities while establishing regulatory frameworks at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He had supported it. Khanna urged the Biden administration to support this legislative initiative.
