Unbelievable Cryptocurrency Scam in Ankara! One Person's 38 Million TL Vanished!

The increasing popularity of Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies has prompted many criminals to take action. As in many countries around the world, criminals in Turkey are taking advantage of the popularity of cryptocurrencies to steal people's money.

At this point, the last news came from Ankara.

According to AA, a businessman in Ankara was defrauded of 38 million liras with spyware by fraudsters who introduced themselves as cryptocurrency exchange officials.

According to the news, a businessman named BA contacted a person who introduced himself as an official of a cryptocurrency exchange based abroad. The person who stated that he was an official of the exchange said that he could invest in B,A with the promise of high profits. Thereupon, BA deposited $250 to the place he was told for trial purposes. BA, who made a high profit from the amount he invested in the short term and withdrew his money, was called again by the person who stated that he was an official of the exchange.

In the news, it was stated that B.A., who trusted the person who called him because of the money he had earned, deposited money into the foreign-based cryptocurrency application that the scammers imitated.

It was also reported that the scammers gained access to B.A.’s phone, laptop and tablet, and obtained the passwords to his mobile banking application and credit cards, thanks to the spyware they installed when B.A. logged into the fake application. It was stated that the scammers gained access to B.A.’s devices and transferred his account balance to their own cryptocurrency wallets.

According to the news, BA then entered the fake application that the scammers told him to use to make peace, but he realized that there was no money in his account. BA immediately informed his lawyer, who stated that his client B.A.'s loss was 38 million lira.
