Tron (TRX) and its founder Justin Sun, who have made headlines with their statements and actions, have announced a new acquisition.
In an official statement from the Tron X account, it was announced that an additional 175,507 TRX tokens were purchased at an average price of $0.28.
“Tron purchased 175,507 TRX tokens at an average price of $0.28, bringing its total TRX treasury holdings to over 679.9 million TRX.”
The company aims to further grow Tron DAT assets to increase long-term shareholder value.
Tron founder Justin Sun stated that he also supports Tron’s plan to purchase additional TRX. In a post from his X account, referring to the purchases, he wrote, “Keep going.”
TRX, which peaked at $0.45 in 2024, is currently trading at $0.28 according to CoinMarketCap data. Having fallen by 2% in the last 24 hours, TRX’s decline has reached 5% in the past week.
