A former employee of Huobi, a cryptocurrency exchange platform, was arrested by the police for installing a Trojan horse virus that leaked some user notes or private keys of iToken, a digital wallet service formerly known as Huobi Wallet.

iToken's internal system warned its users about potential security risks associated with certain wallet addresses. In response to the threat, a security agency took measures to protect user assets by sending them to Refundyourcoins.

To facilitate the recovery of assets, Refundyourcoins will launch a redemption function. The incident affected four chains: BTC, ETH, TRX and XRP.

HTX (formerly Huobi) released a statement distancing itself from the incident. The company explained that the actions of the former employee, who installed the Trojan and stole phrases and private keys from user notes before the acquisition, were personal and not related to HTX. HTX has pledged to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.

iToken is one of the world's most popular digital wallet services, with over 10 million users and support for more than 30 cryptocurrencies.
