Bitcoin (BTC) and altcoins experienced significant increases following US President Donald Trump's XRP, Solana and Cradano announcement.
While this rise increases the expectation that BTC and altcoins can rise even higher, Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat Global Advisors, known for his bold predictions for Bitcoin, announced his Bitcoin price expectation.
Speaking to CNBC, Tom Lee said he expects Bitcoin to surpass $150,000 this year.
Stating that Bitcoin could reach bottom levels along with the stock market this week, Lee said:
“I think there's a very good chance that Bitcoin will bottom this week. The reality is, a lot of bad news is priced in.”
Tom Lee recently said that Bitcoin’s gains usually occur over a few days, so investors who try to time the market risk missing out on the next rally.
“Bitcoin makes all its gains in 10 days, so if people try to time it, they're going to miss the chance for Bitcoin to come back to the top.”
In his previous statements, Tom Lee shared his expectations for the markets in 2025 and stated that he expects Bitcoin to reach approximately $250,000 by the end of 2025.
Lee also stated that he expects Ethereum (ETH) to show a strong performance and reach $5,000 to $6,000.
