According to a post by blockchain analysis firm PeckShield Alert, Unibot, one of the popular Telegram bots, was attacked.
Accordingly, Telegram trading bot Unibot experienced a token approval exploit from the new router, and the Unibot attacker exchanged the stolen tokens for 355.75 Ethereum (ETH) ($640 thousand) and laundered them through Tornado Cash.
Confirming this vulnerability and hacking allegations, the Unibot team made a statement on the subject.
The Unibot team included the following statements in its statement:
“We encountered an issue where token authentication was being exploited on our new router and we paused our router to get the issue under control.
Any money lost due to the error in our new router will be compensated. Your keys and wallets are safe.
“We will issue a detailed response once the investigations are concluded.”
After the hack, the price of Unibot's native token, UNIBOT, dropped rapidly.
At this point, UNIBOT, which has fallen by more than 40% from its level of approximately $ 55 and dropped to $ 28, is traded at $ 43 at the time of writing.
