Activity on the Avalanche network reached a historic level in January 2026. The number of daily active addresses on the Avalanche blockchain reached a new record of 1.71 million.
This figure represents a remarkable increase of approximately 986.5% compared to previous period averages. As a result, the total number of active addresses in the Avalanche ecosystem has cumulatively approached 49.86 million.
The data reveals that interaction, particularly on Avalanche’s C-Chain network, has accelerated significantly since mid-January. Previously, the number of daily active addresses typically ranged between 300,000 and 600,000, but the C-Chain has recently experienced a surge in usage. This sudden increase indicates that decentralized applications (dApps), DeFi protocols, and on-chain transactions on the network are benefiting from this increased interest.
Avalanche’s statement described this development as “the chain is waking up.” The project team suggests that the increased network activity may be linked to the deployment of new applications, the expansion of the user base, and the overall positive sentiment in the crypto market. They also point out that Avalanche’s technical advantages, such as scalability and low transaction fees, are also influential in user preference.
Experts emphasize that an increase in addresses on this scale could be due not only to short-term speculative transactions but also to an expansion in real-world use cases.
