According to Forbes, the US state of Louisiana has passed a pro-Bitcoin bill.
Accordingly, Louisiana passed a pro-Bitcoin bill to protect access to Bitcoin and block Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC), while Bitcoin rights became law in a second state.
Louisiana governor Jeff Landry signed the pro-Bitcoin Bill 488 into law after receiving bipartisan approval from both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
This legislation, sponsored by Representative Mark Wright and Senator Jean-Paul Coussan, supports making access to Bitcoin easier while placing restrictions on CBDCs.
According to the provisions in the accepted draft law; The law in question ensures that individuals can hold their BTC safely, while also allowing businesses to spend and accept Bitcoin without legal barriers.
The law also prohibits the state of Louisiana from accepting payments in CBDC while supporting Bitcoin mining in industrial areas to attract investment and strengthen the Louisiana economy.
By banning CBDCs and encouraging Bitcoin adoption, Louisiana is creating a supportive environment for digital currencies in the US and aims to set an example for other states.
