Forbes has released its updated list of billionaires for 2026. While there have been significant changes to the list, Tesla CEO Elon Musk remains at the top.
According to the American business magazine Forbes, Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk has been named the world’s richest person for the second year in a row.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has become the world’s richest person with a net worth of $839 billion, marking the first time his personal fortune has surpassed $800 billion.
In the Forbes list, Google co-founders Larry Page ($257 billion) and Sergey Brin ($237 billion) ranked second and third respectively. They were followed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($224 billion) and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg ($222 billion).
According to Forbes, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao’s net worth has also risen to approximately $110 billion. This represents an increase of about $47 billion compared to last year, placing CZ 17th on the global richest list.
At this point, CZ overtook Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who was ranked 19th with a net worth of $108 billion, to become the 17th richest person in the world.
This increase in CZ’s wealth is largely attributed to the recovery in Binance’s institutional valuation, which is currently estimated at around $100 billion. CZ is believed to own approximately 90% of the company.
According to Forbes, there are 3,428 billionaires worldwide with assets exceeding $1 billion. This represents an increase of approximately 400 compared to last year.
Forb senior editor Chase Peterson-Wisson said, “The rise in AI-related stocks has significantly increased wealth. Over the past year, more than one new billionaire has emerged every day.”
