Thanks to AI, a User Recovered Their Bitcoin After Forgetting Their Password for 11 Years

A Bitcoin investor claims to have reopened his BTC wallet, which he had been unable to access for over 11 years, with the help of artificial intelligence.

In a social media post, the user said that he uploaded files from his old university computer to the AI model Claude, and the model helped him identify an old wallet file and regain access to it.

According to the user’s account, the process began a few weeks ago with a clue to an old password they found. This clue reportedly belonged to an old password they used years ago, before changing their wallet password. However, when they still couldn’t access the wallet, as a last resort, the user uploaded all the files from their old computer to Claude.

The investor claimed that the AI model found an old wallet.dat file and that the old mnemonic/password combination worked on that file. He further asserted that this allowed him to regain access to his Bitcoin wallet, which had been locked for over 11 years.

He previously stated that he had tried countless passwords over the years, even spending approximately $250 on each one.

The user also shared blockchain data as proof, showing that they moved their 5 BTC that had been inactive for 11 years. The official MetaMask X account also congratulated the user.
