A day after the tech giant Apple warned to remove another Bitcoin (BTC)-related app, Damus, it rejected the latest version of its Zeus app, an out-of-control Lightning Network-enabled Bitcoin wallet.

Apple Rejects Latest Version of Bitcoin wallet Zeus

According to a tweet by Zeus founder Evan Kaloudis, Apple told Zeus, "Your app facilitates the transmission of a virtual currency, but is not offered by a relevant exchange or a recognized financial institution."

“To resolve this issue, please provide documentary evidence that you have the necessary licenses and permissions to distribute an application with cryptocurrency exchange capabilities in all locations where your application is currently available,” he said.

Zeus is negotiating with Apple for approval, as the app does not provide crypto exchange features, but provides payment through a non-custodial wallet.

According to Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino, "Because the product is just a software interface, being unsupervised should be easy to push back". The previous version of the Zeus app is still available from the App Store.

The news comes a day after Apple warned Damus to drop the "zaps" or Bitcoin tipping feature.

Damus now has to remove the zaps functionality from all content sections and can preserve it at the profile level. Damus core developer William Casarin said he would resubmit it with zaps in the future because he believed it didn't violate any guidelines.
