In its latest survey, on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant investigated the rate of investment in Bitcoin and altcoins and which segment invests more.
Spot Trading is Preferred by Young People and Men When Investing!
Accordingly, according to the results of the “2024 Crypto Survey: Exchange Usage and Investor Behavior”, more than 60% of investors are between the ages of 25 and 44. 35% of investors are between the ages of 25-34, and 26% are between the ages of 35-44.
The report also stated that the education level of cryptocurrency investors is high, with approximately 50% of them having a bachelor's degree and 28% having a master's degree.
In terms of gender, it was stated that crypto investors are mostly men. Accordingly, 89% of the participants are male, while only 11% are female.
Regionally, Asia led with a 40% investment rate, followed by Europe with 29% and North America with 10%.
Investors in cryptocurrencies tend to focus more on spot trading, with 76% of respondents saying they prioritize spot trading over derivatives or staking and do spot trading. In contrast, only 28% said they do staking and derivative transactions.
When participants were asked how they make investment decisions, 22% of investors said they made decisions based on their own research, while 16% said they made decisions based on social media influencers.
Finally, most survey respondents indicated that they invest less than $10,000 annually.
Binance is the Clear Leader!
When participants were asked which exchange they preferred for cryptocurrency investments, Binance was the most preferred cryptocurrency exchange, with 53% of participants choosing it as their primary platform.
Regionally, Binance leads in Asia, Africa and South America with user rates exceeding 50%, while Coinbase leads in North America, where 45% of participants use it as their primary exchange.
Additionally, 51% of users stated that they made their biggest profits through Binance, and Binance also ranked first in terms of profitability.
Bitcoin Took First Place!
While the participants said that they invested the most in Bitcoin, it was stated that BTC was followed by Ethereum (ETH) and layer-2 DeFi altcoins.
