Paradigm, a research-driven technology investment firm focused on cryptocurrencies and related technologies, has brought back the word “crypto” after briefly removing it from its website.
Matt Huang, the firm's founder, said in a statement that the removal was “silly” and “a mistake”. He added that Paradigm never left the crypto space, but is now fully back.
Founded in 2018 by Huang and Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam, Paradigm has invested in many key crypto projects including Uniswap, MakerDAO, Compound, and Optimism.
Huang did not explain why the word “crypto” was removed from the website in the first place, but some speculate it was a move to avoid regulatory scrutiny or appeal to a wider range of investors.
The company's website now reads:
“We are focusing on crypto and related technologies at the forefront. We invest and contribute between $1 million and $100 million in companies and protocols.
We usually get involved at the earliest stages and continue to support our portfolio companies over time.”
In addition, on the Paradigm official website, a large number of “crypto” words are now constantly displayed on the lower and upper limit.
