Statement from a Major Crypto Hedge Fund: They Are Preparing To Inject $1 Billion Capital Into The Market

Cryptocurrency hedge fund Pantera Capital plans to allocate $200 million to artificial intelligence (AI)-related startups and is preparing to make a significant investment in artificial intelligence (AI). The firm believes that in the near future, every crypto company will also be an AI startup.

Pantera Capital portfolio manager Cosmo Jiang shared his vision by saying, “10, 15, 20 years from now, everyone will be using artificial intelligence.” Jiang added that investing in an artificial intelligence company will soon be as commonplace as investing in a company with a website.

Jiang, who is actively seeking projects that use artificial intelligence to improve blockchain activities, announced that Pantera Capital has created a new $1 billion fund to inject fresh capital into the sector. The company's portfolio includes important companies such as Coinbase, Circle and Bitstamp.

In a previous fund, Pantera Capital allocated approximately 15% to 20% of its capital to blockchain projects near artificial intelligence. Jiang expects the new fund to invest even more in this area. This suggests that Pantera Capital, with the fund's first closing expected in 2025, will invest over $200 million in artificial intelligence-focused cryptocurrency projects over the remainder of this decade.

While Jiang didn't explicitly commit to that figure, he said “the math shows it's reasonable.”
