Ethereum (ETH) continues to struggle for new upward momentum after the crashes experienced in the final months of 2025.
At this point, there are both bullish and bearish predictions for ETH in 2026, with the latest prediction coming from Standard Chartered.
British banking giant Standard Chartered has made a very bold prediction, arguing that “2026 will be the year of Ethereum.”
Although Bitcoin’s weak performance negatively impacted the overall cryptocurrency market, he said that Ethereum’s fundamental indicators were showing signs of improvement.
At this point, Geoffrey Kendrick, Head of Global Digital Asset Research at Standard Chartered, argued that Ethereum will outperform other cryptocurrencies in 2026, even though he has lowered some short-term price predictions due to the general weakness in the crypto markets.
“I believe 2026 will be Ethereum’s year, just like 2021. The increasing adoption of blockchains and on-chain products is among the factors that will allow Ethereum to perform significantly better.”
Among these, ETH’s dominant position in stablecoins, RWAs, and DeFi stands out.
Although Standard Chartered has lowered its multi-year targets for Ethereum, it still predicts that ETH will end 2026 at $7,500. The bank previously expected ETH to reach $12,000 by the end of 2026.
Looking at other years, the bank predicts that ETH will close at $15,000 in 2027 and $22,000 in 2028.
While lowering its previous forecasts for 2026, 2027, and 2028, the bank conversely raised its longer-term outlook, increasing its year-end forecast for 2029 to $30,000. It also set a new year-end target of $40,000 for 2030.
