Standard Chartered Answers the Question: When Will the Bull Market Begin for Bitcoin?

Geoff Kendrick, head of digital asset research at Standard Chartered, one of Wall Street’s giant banks, has published an important report on the current state and future of the cryptocurrency market.

Describing the recent market downturns not as a “crypto winter” but as a temporary “cold breeze,” Kendrick provided a clear answer to the question most frequently asked by investors: “When will the next bull market begin?”

According to Kendrick, current macroeconomic pressures and liquidity crunch in the market may lead to a cautious approach for the remainder of 2026. However, the renowned analyst predicts that a new and powerful bull cycle will begin in 2027. Kendrick specifically states that 2027 will be the “Year of Ethereum,” with ETH outperforming Bitcoin and leading the market.

According to the analyst, a “final cleanup” in Bitcoin’s price down to the $50,000 level is possible. Kendrick believes this potential pullback is not a disaster, but rather a “last buying opportunity” before the bull cycle.

Although the bank has revised its short-term forecasts, it maintains its long-term bullish outlook.

  • Bitcoin (BTC): $100,000 by the end of 2026, and $500,000 in 2030.
  • Ethereum (ETH): $7,500 by the end of 2027, and $40,000 by 2030.
  • Solana (SOL): $2,000 by 2030.
