Cryptocurrency custody company Metaco, which was recently acquired by Ripple for $250 million, is facing a significant shakeup in its executive and marketing teams. Since the deal was completed last year, nearly all executives and marketing teams have left the Switzerland-based firm.
CEO Adriene Treccani and chief product officer Peter Demeo are among the latest to leave. Angel Nunez, who served as CTO and chief customer officer, also left the company, according to a shared internal email. Among those leaving are sales manager Craig Perrin and marketing manager Mei Li Powell. Gene Peterson and Rahul Mudgal, both marketing executives, also left the company.
Before being acquired by Ripple, Metaco had established itself as a preferred partner for European banks seeking help with custody of digital assets. The company recently acquired HSBC. However, there were reports that banks were re-evaluating their relationship with Metaco following the acquisition.
