According to Reuters, PayPal received a subpoena from the SEC regarding its stablecoin PYUSD.
Accordingly, PayPal said in a statement today that it has received a subpoena from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding its stablecoin PYUSD.
“On November 1, 2023, we received a subpoena from the US SEC Enforcement Division regarding the PayPal USD stablecoin.
The subpoena requests the production of documents. “We are cooperating with the SEC in connection with this request.”
As you may remember, PayPal launched its own stablecoin in August.
At this point, PayPal had become the first major financial technology company to adopt digital currencies for payments and transfers.
