Messari, a market information firm for crypto assets, has issued a warning to users of Uniswap and several other decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms about scam offers aimed at stealing funds from unsuspecting participants.
Messari said on Twitter that new scam offers have been created that affect Uniswap, Index Coop and ParaSwap. The company shared links to scam offers to spread awareness and urged users to be cautious when voting on management issues.
Uniswap is one of the most popular decentralized exchanges (DEXs) that allow users to trade Ethereum-based tokens without intermediaries. It also has a management system that allows token holders to propose and vote on changes to the protocol.
However, scammers abuse this feature by creating fake offers that look legitimate but contain malicious code or links. If users vote on these offers, they may lose their funds or jeopardize their security.
The UniSwap Foundation addressed the users who voted in its statement on Twitter and reported that the last Snapshot pool on the platform was a fraud. The proposal, which contains scam-linked links, includes participation links for the so-called Arbitrum airdrop. The funds of users who click on these links and connect their wallets are drained.
The UniSwap Foundation said in a statement that they are working to remove the fraudulent offer from the Snapshot pool.
