Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has filed a new request to be temporarily released pending trial while awaiting trial.

The move follows a series of legal moves since August, when his initial bail was revoked.

Bankman-Fried's journey through the legal process began in August, when he was detained after a judge suspected he was trying to influence witnesses, leading to his bail being revoked.

His appeal to annul this decision on 12 September was rejected, and the next attempt to annul the decision on 21 September also ended in disappointment.

One of the main arguments for temporary release concerns the extensive potential witness list of more than 50 people, as well as thousands of pages of evidentiary material and more than 1,300 pieces of evidence provided by the government.

The defense pointed out the difficulty of predicting which witnesses the prosecution would call and in what order, and stated that it was imperative to have sufficient time to prepare for each day's hearings.

The renewed application states five conditions that Bankman-Fried undertakes to comply with if temporarily released.

These conditions include being required to be present with his legal team at designated offices or off-site work areas, or under the supervision of a security guard at his temporary residence in New York when he is not in court.
