Chainlink (LINK), one of the altcoins that has attracted attention with its recent rise, has launched the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on Base, the Coinbase Ethereum Layer 2 scaling platform.
In the post made on Chainlik's official Twitter account, it was stated that CCIP was launched on the Base network and that this move aims to provide a secure tool for Base developers to create cross-chain applications and services that can send messages, transfer tokens and initiate other transactions over multiple blockchain networks.
Chainlink Labs Business Manager Johann Eid stated the following in his statement:
“With CCIP now live on Base, developers have access to the leading interoperability protocol to easily build cross-chain applications and services.
Base and Chainlink are at the forefront of blockchain development as we work to bring the next wave of millions of new users to our industry.
Base's scalability and technological creativity as a layer 2 solution are coupled with a growing number of users.
Chainlink services are a boon for developers looking to build the next generation of cross-chain applications and services.”
“We're excited about the launch of CCIP on Base, which allows developers to securely build cross-chain applications, giving them the power to experiment more and unlock new use cases,” said Jesse Pollak, protocol lead at Coinbase who spearheaded the launch of Base. .
Daily transactions and new addresses on the Base network, which opened to the public on August 9, surpassed Arbitrum and Optimism.
LINK, which differentiated itself positively from the market with the increase in its price, experienced a 7% increase after the announcement. At the time of writing, LINK is trading at $7.75.
