Only 6 Percent of Major Altcoins Generated Profits in the Last Year – Here Are Those Green Altcoins

Cryptocurrency research company Delphi Digital shared striking data in its latest assessment of the altcoin market.

According to the company’s sector-based dashboard, only about 6% of the altcoins tracked in the past year generated returns for investors. The average loss in value was around 70%. Delphi Digital described this as “a difficult year for altcoins,” noting that market interest is increasingly shifting towards stocks and precious metals.

When examining the benchmark assets, a general weakness across the market is evident. Bitcoin (BTC) fell by 10.3%, from $87,520 on December 31, 2025, to $78,507 on February 1, 2026. Ethereum (ETH) lost 18.75% and Solana (SOL) lost 15.32% during the same period. The average decline for these three is calculated as 14.79%.

In the Tier 1 category, the average decline was 14.19%, with two altcoins standing out in the green zone: Cosmos (ATOM) rose 2.62% and Hyperliquid (HYPE) increased by 21.41%. In contrast, Avalanche (AVAX), NEAR Protocol (NEAR), Sui (SUI), and Toncoin (TON) experienced double-digit losses.

In the modular segment, the average loss was 14.95%, while the projects that remained green were Babylon (BABY) with 5.78% and Manta Network (MANTA) with 4.13%. The majority of other projects showed double-digit declines.

In the Memecoin category, the average decrease was measured at 10.76%. Despite this, Pepe (PEPE) remained in the green zone with a 5.1% increase. Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), while experiencing limited losses, remained in negative territory.

While the average decline in the Ethereum DeFi segment was 9.85%, some projects stood out positively. Frax (FRAX) rose 42.91%, Maker (MKR) 6.74%, and Morpho (MORPHO) 3.59%. In contrast, Uniswap (UNI) showed weak performance with a 29.62% decrease.

AI & DePIN showed a relatively more resilient picture. While the average loss was 9.03%, Render (RENDER) stood out with a 22.91% increase and Venom (VVV) with a 40% increase. Akash Network (AKT) also recorded a 6.29% increase.

In the Launchpad category, the average decrease was more limited at 5.75% compared to other segments. In this area, PUMP (PUMP) rose by 38.61%, Clanker (CLANKER) by 55.37%, and Zora (ZORA) by 7.46%, placing them in the green zone.
