While cryptocurrency regulation efforts in Turkey have reached the final stage, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek made new statements.
Participating in the joint broadcast of Habertürk TV and Bloomberg HT, Mehmet Şimşek pointed out the post-election period regarding the cryptocurrency law on the agenda.
“Cryptocurrency regulation will most likely be passed by the Parliament after the election.

In April-May, FATF will send a delegation to Turkey for on-site inspection.
Most likely, if political considerations do not come into play in June 2024, Türkiye will be removed from the gray list.
We do not take steps that would unsettle the markets. We are also working on the issue of justice in taxation. “As of now, tax regulations that will disrupt the market, neither in the stock market nor in any other field, are not on our agenda.”
