In Litecoin (LTC), an old and important Proof of Work altcoin, the third halving event has been successfully completed.
According to the information, the halving, which was completed at 18:06 Turkish time, was the third halving event since the token was launched in 2011.
With the development, block rewards in Litecoin mining have been reduced from 12.5 LTC to 6.25 LTC.
LTC price experienced a decline before the event, but it seems that it did not react immediately with the event:
The Litecoin Foundation confirmed the halving in a statement on its official Twitter account and gave a date for the next halving:
“Litecoin's block reward was automatically adjusted from 12.5 to 6.25 LTC.
The next Litecoin Halving will occur at 840,000 blocks, estimated on July 30, 2027.”
