According to TechCrunch, X (formerly Twitter) has ended NFT profile photo support.
While X is ending NFT support, users will no longer be able to set an NFT as their profile picture.
This feature was first launched in January 2022 under Twitter's previous management. At the time, the company was allowing Twitter Blue subscribers to set their Ethereum-minted NFTs as profile pictures, which appeared as hexagons.
Apart from Twitter, Instagram and Facebook also experimented with displaying and publishing NFTs, but in March 2023, Meta (Facebook) ended NFT support.
