JUST IN: SEC Releases Update on Anticipated Solana (SOL) Spot ETF Decision

According to breaking news, the SEC has postponed its decision on the Bitwise Solana Spot ETF application.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed the final decision date for Bitwise's proposed Spot Solana ETF to October 16, 2025.

Cboe BZX Exchange filed a rule change request with the SEC on January 28, 2025, to list and trade the Bitwise Solana ETF under BZX Rule 14.11(e)(4). The proposal was published in the Federal Register on February 18, 2025, and opened for public comment.

The SEC officially launched its review process to evaluate the application on May 19, 2025. According to the statutory calendar, the 180-day review period was set to end on August 17, 2025. However, the agency extended the period by 60 days, stating that “more time is needed to evaluate the proposed rule change and related issues.”

Accordingly, the new deadline for the SEC to decide whether to approve or reject the Bitwise Spot Solana ETF is set as October 16, 2025.
