It was revealed yesterday that US President Donald Trump will give a speech at the Digital Asset Summit (DAS) to be held in New York.
While Trump will not attend the conference in person, his remarks will be broadcast via pre-recorded video and will last five minutes.
This speech is important as it will be the first time a US President has spoken at a crypto-focused conference. As will be recalled, Trump also spoke as a candidate at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference before the presidential elections.
Trump said the following about cryptocurrencies in his speech:
“The US will dominate crypto and next-gen financial technologies.
Bitcoin reserve and cryptocurrency stockpile will allow governments to maximize our digital asset holdings.
We are ending the last administration's regulatory war on crypto and Bitcoin.
We called on Congress to create simple, common-sense rules for stablecoins and market structure.
With the right legal structure, institutions will have the freedom to innovate and invest.
It will improve the banking and payment system, promoting privacy, security, safety and prosperity for businesses and individuals.
We can already see that the energy and passion of the crypto community is the spirit that built our country.
