The Russian parliament has passed a bill allowing companies to use Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrency payments for international trade, local news agency Ria Novosti reported.
The bill in question also envisions legalizing Bitcoin mining. Accordingly, BTC mining can be done under certain limitations.
It was stated that the government may ban cryptocurrency mining in certain regions if deemed necessary, and it was stated that only registered legal entities and individual entrepreneurs can mine in the country.
It was stated that the bill adopted today aims to prevent illegal activities, attract investment and create jobs and indicates a significant change in the country's approach to cryptocurrencies.
