Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) confirmed in a post on social media platform X that several former Binance employees are part of the perpetual DEX project Aster team.
He also disclosed that YZi Labs has a minority stake in Aster.
While some users in the community claimed that CZ said he was part of the Aster team in a Spaces post on X, CZ clarified: “I’m not on the team, I’m just an advisor.” CZ added that despite Aster competing with Binance, it benefits the BNB ecosystem in the long run.
Just four days ago, ASTER hit an all-time high of $2.42. At the time of writing, it has fallen 25% from its record high.
CZ has been frequently posting about ASTER lately, appearing to side with it against rival decentralized cryptocurrency exchange Hyperliquid. He has criticized the platform for allowing users to view their transactions without any privacy.
