In the Coming Weeks, SEC Will Make Decisions That May Affect the Cryptocurrency Market: Here are the Dates

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is preparing to make several important decisions in the coming weeks that could significantly affect the cryptocurrency market.

The SEC has until October 13 to appeal the decision in the Grayscale case. This period is closely followed by investors as it can give an idea about the SEC's stance on spot ETFs.

The SEC also faces deadlines for two other important decisions. The first of these is the response to Bitwise Bitcoin ETP Trust, which must be submitted by October 16.

The second is the response to Nasdaq's request to list the iShares Bitcoin Fund by October 17. The SEC could technically respond at any time before these dates, but historically decisions are often made just a few days before the deadline.

However, SEC chairman Gary Gensler will testify before the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday. In addition, next week's party to celebrate Ripple's victory over the SEC will also take place on Friday.

More recently, it was learned this week that the trustee overseeing the Mt Gox bankruptcy had decided to postpone payments to creditors for another year. The new payment date, originally set as October 31, 2023, is now October 31, 2024.
