If Bitcoin Spot ETFs Are Approved, When Will They Launch? Bloomberg Cryptocurrency Analyst Discusses

Bloomberg's cryptocurrency expert James Seyffart recently discussed the anticipated approval and launch of Bitcoin Spot ETFs. Approval is expected to occur by January 10, 2023, but the exact date when trading will begin remains unclear.

In a recent interaction, a follower asked Seyffart about her post-confirmation timeline. The follower asked, “Let's say we get approval in January, how long will it take for products to be released?” asked.

Seyffart responded:

“There's no way to know for sure. It may happen within a day or two after approval. “Or it could be weeks later.”

He also explained that while 19b-4 approvals are likely to happen, the SEC must also sign off on s-1s. “So if approval is received for both, there will likely be a small gap between approval and launch,” Seyffart said. he added.

However, he cautioned that there is no guarantee that the S-1s are ready for release. Despite this, Seyffart remains optimistic:

“Based on all these meetings and re-filings, I have to assume that both the applicants and the SEC are working hard to get things done.”
