The Ethereum Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the world's largest altcoin Ethereum, is known for holding a large amount of ETH.
When the idea of Ethereum was first introduced and ETHs began to be distributed, 72 million ETH was distributed to the community, while 12 million ETH went to the Ethereum Foundation, and these funds were to be used for the development of Ethereum.
On the other hand, the foundation has recently become a topic of discussion with its large sales. A short while ago, 35,000 ETH worth approximately $90 million was sold from the foundation wallets.
The sales in question are being criticized because they were not announced in advance and were very large in amount. On the other hand, the foundation announced in its official statement that they have an annual expense of $100 million for operational costs and that the latest sale is part of treasury management activities.
So how much ETH does the Ethereum Foundation have left to sell? According to the latest figures, the foundation currently has $848 million in assets, almost all of which are held as ETH or wrapped ETH. The total amount of ETH in the foundation is around 300,000 ETH at the time of writing.
