Hot Moments: Whales Make These Moves Ahead of Ethereum Spot ETF Decision

The cryptocurrency market is waiting for the SEC to make a decision on Ethereum Spot ETFs today.

The decision, which is expected at 23:30 Turkey time (UTC+3), is predicted to be approved by the majority of the market.

However, the increase in the activities of Ethereum whales in recent hours is noteworthy. Here are some trades made by whales.

One of the whales in question is a wallet thought to belong to Ethereum co-founder Jeffrey Wilcke. Wilcke moved ETH worth $37.38 million to Kraken at a price of $3,738, according to onchain data.

The founder has transferred 24,300 ETH to Kraken since the beginning of 2024, corresponding to a total of $75.52 million. The average price of ETHs transferred by the whale to cryptocurrency exchanges was $3,108.

At the time of writing this article, ETH price is trading at $3,805.

Wilcke has 126 thousand ETH worth $473 million at the time this article was written.

On the other hand, a cryptocurrency whale with the short address 0x4451 is thought to have made a panic sale. The whale wallet in question sold 7,921 ETH at $3,754 at a point where the price of ETH temporarily crashed. The coins in question were staked.

The third and last whale moved 10,690 ETH worth a total of $40.69 million to the Binance and HashKey cryptocurrency exchanges. When this whale purchased, he collected $38 million worth of these ETH coins between March 26 and April 13, with the average purchase price being $3,551.
