HGS Application Hacked, Bitcoin (BTC) Demanded! Statement from PTT!

As the use and adoption of Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies increase day by day, hackers are trying to take advantage of this situation.

While many altcoin projects, crypto platforms and sites have been hacked, this time the hacking incident came from Turkey.

According to NTV, an interesting hacking incident occurred in Turkey. According to the news, PTT's Fast Transit System (HGS) application was hacked.

It was stated that following the hacking incident, HGS users were sent notifications threatening that their personal information would be shared if they did not send crypto money to the specified accounts.

The news also included information that in addition to sending swearing notifications to users from the official HGS mobile application, crypto money was requested from users.

Accordingly, people who have the HGS application on their phones received a message from the application saying, “If you do not send $25,000 to this Bitcoin address, I will share all the data.”

PTT made an official statement regarding the notifications sent to users via the HGS mobile application. PTT stated that the hacking incident occurred abroad and included the following statements in its statement:

“In the evening hours, there was an unauthorized access from abroad to the message service of our HGS mobile application, and it was determined that notifications unrelated to our company were sent to some users.

Once the incident was detected, our security systems were quickly activated and the necessary technical and operational measures were implemented.

During this unauthorized intervention, no data loss or user information falling into the hands of unauthorized persons occurred.

“In addition, a legal process has been initiated in cooperation with legal authorities. Respectfully announced to the public.”
