Binance recently announced that it will delist altcoins, which are considered privacy tokens for users in France, Italy, Spain and Poland.
Tokens announced to be delisted Decred (DCR), Dash (DASH), Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), Horizon (ZEN), PIVX, Navcoin (NAV), Secret (SCRT), Firo (FIRO), BEAM, MobileCoin ( MOB) and Verge (XVG).
According to the latest statement made by the exchange, the company will revise its plan and reverse its delisting decision:
“After carefully considering feedback from our community and various projects, we have revised the way we classify privacy coins on our platform to comply with EU-wide regulatory requirements.”
However, some projects have notified their communities that they will not be delisted on the exchange. These include Verge (XVG) and Secret (SCRT).
It is currently unclear which tokens will be delisted by Binance after the regulation.
These decisions by Binance came as the EU set its standards for digital assets with new Crypto Asset Markets (MiCA) regulations that became law on May 31.
“We are grateful to everyone in the Secret community who reached out to Binance, and to Binance for relisting SCRT in affected European countries,” said Secret Network co-founder Guy Zyskind.
He added that he believes the decision came after Binance “understood that SCRT is not a privacy coin, but rather a smart contract platform that allows you to store and process sensitive data on-chain.”
