Global asset management company VanEck has published its new report containing market expectations for the first quarter of 2026.
The company stated that as we enter 2026, clearer signals regarding fiscal and monetary policies are supporting a recovery in risk appetite in global markets. VanEck noted that in this environment, artificial intelligence, private equity loans, gold, Indian markets, and crypto assets have become prominent investment areas.
The report dedicated a section specifically to cryptocurrency markets, highlighting a cautious outlook for Bitcoin in the short term. According to VanEck, Bitcoin’s long-standing traditional four-year cycle concludes in 2025, making the market’s short-term dynamics more complex. The company emphasized that these mixed signals justify a more cautious stance over the next 3 to 6 months.
VanEck analysts stated that the clear upward and corrective phases observed in past cycles have become more uncertain this time, and investors should focus more on macroeconomic indicators and liquidity conditions, not just price movements. They particularly emphasized that the monetary policies of US and global central banks will be decisive in determining the direction of the cryptocurrency markets.
However, the report also noted that VanEck’s cautious short-term view was not shared by all market participants. Some investors and analysts argued that institutional adoption of Bitcoin and interest in alternative assets would continue to support prices in the medium to long term.
In conclusion, VanEck emphasized the need for caution in the short term, but noted that the long-term investment story for crypto assets has not entirely disappeared and they can continue to play a significant role in global portfolios.
