Morgan Creek Digital to Raise Up to $500 Million for New Web3 Venture Capital Fund
The firm is meeting with sovereign and institutional investors, company officials and industry experts in the Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) region as part of its strategy to expand its international presence.
The company also continues its discussions with US-based investors and partners.
Morgan Creek Digital emphasized that EMEA and APAC are ready to lead the future of technology by significantly increasing investments in artificial intelligence and blockchain.
“With Web3's global reach, MCD will spend more time in international markets to connect with top CEOs and partners,” said Partner Mark Yusko in the statement.
The new fund aims to invest in Web3's “ABCDs” by targeting companies that integrate artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and high-performance chips to leverage the value of data.
The firm favors technologies that cross multiple industries, such as high-performance chips used for artificial intelligence training in data centers or Bitcoin mining.
APAC countries are expected to nearly triple their productive AI investments to $3.4 billion by 2024, while EMEA's digital budgets for AI are projected to grow by 40% and add $30 billion in new net investment by 2025, according to Morgan Creek Digital .
