Gary Gensler Era Is Coming to an End for Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies! If Donald Trump Becomes President, the Leading Candidate for SEC Chair Has Been Announced!

As the US presidential election, which is critical for Bitcoin (BTC) and the cryptocurrency market, approaches, Politico says that Robinhood’s general counsel is the leading candidate for the SEC chairmanship if Donald Trump wins the election.

Robinhood General Counsel Dan Gallagher has emerged as a leading candidate to head the Securities and Exchange Commission if Donald Trump wins the presidency, Politico said, citing information from former top regulators, lobbyists and securities attorneys.

Gallagher served as a commission member between 2011 and 2015. It is stated that Gallagher, who is stated to attach importance to cryptocurrency regulations, will take a moderate approach.

“He would be a natural choice,” one former top SEC official told Politico.

Another person who spoke to Politico said it was unclear whether Gallagher would want to leave Robinhood, but added that Gallagher loves his job and would be honored to be included in any discussions about who could be the next SEC chairman.

Other names considered as potential SEC chair candidates in the Trump administration include former Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Chris Giancarlo, known as “CryptoDad”; former SEC General Counsel Robert Stebbins, who is now a partner at the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher; and current SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, who holds a Republican seat on the agency's five-person commission.
