A newly created whale, known by the short address 0x835, acquired seven different assets worth $1 billion from Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange. Assets were transferred via Binance Smart Chain.
Assets included:
- 2,014,975 BNB ($567,215,517)
- 128,186.01 ETH ($286,508,557)
- 60,260,209 MATIC ($53,016,932)
- 35,526,607 FDUSD ($35,592,251)
- 48,946,218 FTM ($26,514,166)
- 2.2837T SHIB ($24,330,152)
- 1,800,010 FIL ($9,997,619)
What makes this transaction particularly notable is that the whale was created just five days earlier, on December 21, 2023. The speed and magnitude of the asset transfer suggest these may be internal transactions within Binance.
On the other hand, a different whale made larger transactions via Binance.
A huge whale known by the short address 0x5db moved 20.78 million STORJ, equivalent to $17.18 million, to the Binance deposit address. This move comes after the whale withdrew the same amount of STORJ worth $21.6 million from OKX and Binance on December 17, 2023, at an average price of $1.04. If STORJ were sold at the current market price, the whale would take a loss of $4.49 million on STORJ, a significant -20.8%.
