Four Key Ripple Executives Share Their Cryptocurrency Predictions for 2024

As the new year approaches, Ripple executives shared their predictions for 2024 and predicted that there will be significant changes in the cryptocurrency world.

Aaron Sears, the company's Senior Vice President of Global Customer Success, predicts that traditional brands and web2 companies will begin to drive mainstream crypto usage.

Until now, this process has been led by companies in the payments and traditional finance space, such as PayPal, Mastercard, JPMorgan and Citi. However, Sears expects technology leaders such as Amazon, Uber and Apple to integrate crypto and blockchain into their businesses as the so-called 'crypto winter' ends.

Sears also predicts that significant steps will be taken in corporate investments in Brazil following the regulations to be made in mid-2024. Sears believes that this will increase the legitimacy of the market, accelerate growth and create new opportunities for both startups and established companies.

Ripple Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Eric van Miltenburg sees a “new era of finance” emerging in 2024 that includes reliable service, adoption by traditional financial institutions, and regulatory compliance. He notes that skepticism towards crypto is decreasing as institutions realize the value that services like Ripple can add to their technology stacks.

Ripple Vice President of Global Public Policy Rob Grant predicts that a G7 country will have a blockchain-backed Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) by the end of the year, ushering in a new era of government-backed digital currencies. He also expects a major US company to accept a cryptocurrency as a form of payment so Americans can use blockchain-based payments for their everyday purchases.

The company's Head of Payments Products, Brendan Berry, expects a “service boom” in 2024, with a renewed focus on companies that solve real-world problems. He also foresees a rise in fintech and crypto partnerships to bridge the gap between emerging and existing financial technologies. Additionally, Berry predicts that stablecoins based on non-G7 currencies will take off in 2024, providing a new entry point and gateway into crypto for consumers.
