Faruk Fatih Özer, the founder of the crypto exchange Thodex, whose extradition was decided by Albania, was brought to Turkey.
In a written statement made by the Albanian Supreme Court on March 15, it was announced that Özer had applied to the Supreme Court to overturn the extradition decision.
The decision of the Elbasan Court of First Instance regarding the continuation of Özer's detention on 2 September was appealed by Özer's lawyers on 14 September.
The Duraç Court of Appeals also upheld the decision on Özer's detention on 20 September.
Özer was requested to be extradited to Turkey on charges of "establishing a criminal organization" and "qualified fraud".
What Happened?
Thodex, the Istanbul-based cryptocurrency exchange with 400 thousand users, was suddenly stopped in April 2021.
Then users started to be unable to access their accounts. It was determined that the founder of the platform, Faruk Fatih Özer, fled to Albania on April 20.
Wanted with a red notice, Özer was caught in Albania on 30 August.

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu announced that Özer would be extradited to Turkey after the court process in Albania.
Brought to Istanbul
After the high courts approved the decision of the Albanian judicial authorities regarding the "extradition of Özer to Turkey", action was taken to bring Özer to Turkey. The plane carrying Özer landed at Istanbul Airport minutes ago.
