While major investor movements in the cryptocurrency markets are closely monitored, a new whale transaction targeting Ethereum (ETH) has attracted attention.

According to data shared by @ai_9684xtpa, known for his on-chain analysis, a crypto whale with long-term ETH investments continued to grow its portfolio over the past week. As of January 13th, this whale withdrew 1,299.6 ETH from the OKX exchange and transferred it to its personal wallet.

According to the data, this latest purchase was made at $3,129.64 per ETH. It is stated that the whale’s Ethereum accumulation process began on December 5, 2025, and since then, through gradual purchases, they have built up a total position of 51,451.6 ETH.

The average cost is reportedly around $3,117.3. This indicates that the investor has allocated a total of approximately $161 million in capital to Ethereum.

However, recent fluctuations in market prices have put pressure on the whale’s position in the short term. Based on current prices, it is estimated that the entity in question currently has approximately $940,000 in unrealized (floating) losses.

On the other hand, it is reported that the whale’s paper profit exceeded $9 million during Ethereum’s short-term peak levels last week, but this gain was significantly eroded by the price pullback.

Analysts emphasize that such large-scale purchases indicate continued long-term confidence in Ethereum, but volatility may remain high in the short term. Strategic accumulation moves by whales continue to be closely watched for their impact on market direction.
