While expectations for the future of cryptocurrencies are rising, many projects continue to raise millions of dollars in funding.
In this context, the cryptocurrency project Nocturne Labs, which aims to enable private accounts in the Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem, raised $ 6 million in the last funding round.
According to The Block, the financing round was led by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Bain Capital Crypto and Bankless Ventures Ventures.
Nocturne co-founder and CEO Luke Tchang said:
“Nocturne Labs is developing a protocol that aims to allow users to transact anonymously within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Users will have 'internal' accounts in Nocturne and receiving/spending money from these accounts will be carried out anonymously. Users will be able to deposit money or receive payments into their Nocturne accounts.
At this point, Nocturne is currently only focusing on incorporating private accounts into the Ethereum ecosystem. It will first support Ethereum, then Ethereum Layer 2 networks in the future.
“The developed protocol is expected to be launched on the Ethereum mainnet next month.”
