Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who frequently makes headlines with his statements and posts, is now being talked about with his ETH proposal.
At this point, Buterin said that the minimum deposit for Ethereum staking should be lower than it is now.
Buterin noted that they are aware that the current staking amount of 32 ETH (minimum deposit) could be a major hurdle for staking investors.
Therefore, Buterin suggested that lowering the minimum stake amount from 32 ETH to 16 or 24 ETH should be discussed in order to increase accessibility for stakers.
“This reduction will increase staking availability and ensure network stability.
By using new technologies such as PeerDAS and Orbit Stateless Smart Contract Functions (SSF), the minimum deposit can be reduced to 1 ETH.”
Buterin added that reducing the minimum staking amount could further encourage retail investors to participate in staking.
