Disturbing News from the UK! “New Bans Imposed on Bitcoin (BTC) and Cryptocurrencies!”

News of a potential ban has emerged from the UK, which is continuing its regulatory efforts regarding Bitcoin (BTC) and altcoins but has yet to reach a conclusion.

Accordingly, the UK government announced that it has banned cryptocurrency donations to political parties until adequate regulation is in place, citing transparency and the risk of foreign influence.

According to an official statement from the UK government, crypto donations to political parties are banned, and limits have been placed on donations from overseas voters.

At this point, the government announced that it was imposing an annual cap of £100,000 on political donations from abroad.

The government stated that cryptocurrency payments make it difficult to verify the true source of funds and increase the risk of covert foreign influence in elections.

These measures will be implemented through amendments to the Representation of the People Act, in line with the recommendations of the Rycroft Review.

According to the regulations, the parties must return the illegal donations within 30 days; otherwise, they will face legal action and penalties.

It was also stated that these bans would not be lifted until Parliament and the Electoral Commission were confident that a robust regulatory environment had been established to ensure trust and transparency in such donations.
