Did Elizabeth Warren, One of Bitcoin's Biggest Enemies, Switch Sides? Satoshi Sharing Arrived

Senator Elizabeth Warren, a long-time critic of Bitcoin, recognized the work of Bitcoin's anonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, on the 15th anniversary of the launch of the BTC network.

This senator's sudden embrace of Bitcoin may seem unexpected, but it aligns with his career-long rhetoric about fighting for the financially underserved. The certificate prepared by the Architect of the Capitol for recognition of the flag states that Nakamoto's Bitcoin “brings new economic freedoms to populations previously ignored by both private and public institutions.”

The move comes just a week after Warren introduced legislation to give the Treasury more tools to restrict criminal use of Bitcoin.

“Americans will forever be grateful” for Satoshi, Warren said in the certificate she prepared.

Warren was elected to the Senate in 2012, defeating incumbent Senator Scott Brown with 53.7% of the vote. Warren also defeated former state Rep. Geoff Diehl in 2018 with 60% of the vote. However, polls conducted in 2023 showed that only 41% of Massachusetts residents viewed Warren's candidacy favorably.
