While interest in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies continues to increase in the USA, there is no legal regulation for the crypto sector.
While regulatory studies continue, Stand with Crypto, a non-profit organization of Coinbase, announced new research results.
According to Cointelegraph, Stand with Crypto revealed that a total of 18 US senators now support cryptocurrencies.
Stand With Crypto's research currently indicates that Republican senators Cynthia Lumnis and Ted Burr stand out as the most pro-crypto politicians in the US Senate.
While 14 of these 18 senators are Republicans and only 4 are Democrats, Lumnis and Burr are followed closely by fellow Republicans Ted Cruz and Bill Hagerty.
Stand With Crypto reported in its research that although 18 senators were cryptocurrency supporters, a total of 30 senators were firmly on the opposition side.
Accordingly, it was stated that 23 of the 30 senators who are against crypto are Democrats, 5 are Republicans and 2 are Independent.
Stand With Crypto also added in its research that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, who accepts donations to his campaign with Bitcoin, have turned to supporting cryptocurrencies.
In contrast, Stand With Crypto noted that current President Joe Biden has listed himself as anti-cryptocurrency, with five public statements indicating a negative stance on digital assets.
