Alphapo, a major payment processor, was hacked and lost over $23 million in various cryptocurrencies.
The attack was reported on Twitter by cryptocurrency detective ZachXBT, who has been tracking the stolen funds across different blockchains.
According to ZachXBT, hackers emptied Alphapo's hot wallets for Ethereum, Tron and Bitcoin. They then bought more ETH using Ethereum and Tron tokens and bridged it to the Avalanche network. Bitcoins were also moved to another address.
One of the customers of the platform, HypeDrop, confirmed the hack in his statement and said:
“Our provider is currently working on solving some new issues on their part, especially they are facing issues with withdrawals of BTC, ETH and TRX as well as deposits for ETH and TRX.
We are actively monitoring the situation and will provide you with an update as more information becomes available.”
