The Shanghai update, which will complete Ethereum's transition to the Proof-of-Stake system, will officially launch on April 12, 2023. Discussions on how the ETH price will follow after the network upgrade continue.
Shanghai will allow investors who stake ETH tokens on the Ethereum network to withdraw. As a result of this situation, Fidelity and JPMorgan analysts made different predictions about how the price would be affected.
Crypto experts at JPMorgan, one of the largest banks in the traditional financial industry, recently published a note. Analysts expect some selling pressure as a large amount of ETH tokens will be released. JPMorgan predicted that Ethereum will outperform Bitcoin in the short term.
How Much Profit Are ETH Stakers Made?
Crypto asset company Fidelity Digital Assets has taken a closer look at staking investors. Experts have determined that half of the validators locking ETH into the system are in profit and half are in loss.
Analysts highlighted that one-third of staked Ethereum is already in circulation via liquidity tokens.
Riyad Carey, who works at Kaiko, another research company, made the following statement:
"I believe that institutions will invest in stakes in the long run as a result of the opening of withdrawals."
